Texas Star

Perhaps more popularly known in Eastern North Carolina as a Mexican Hibiscus,  The Texas Star  is a very fast growing perennial with huge flowers that only last for one day.  At sundown, the bloom closes and drops off the plant.  So waiting for the late evening light to photograph one is not possible.  The plants can grow up to 10 feet tall and have literally dozens and dozens of blooms.  A very brilliant and show stopping flower.   See you soon on most of this same blog.
