Airborne Camellia Blooms

Strangest thing.  From my window I could see the big blooms on the Camellias literally sailing by; blown away by the 50 mile per hour gusts that ushered in the end to our false spring.  Blobs of pink, white and red took on the look of  flying bokeh.  Once the front had finished its assault,  the sun came out spotlighting the fallen blooms.

Hundreds of blooms had carpeted the ground in the Camellia Beds.   Hardly a bloom was left on the shrubs.  Lots of buds though. They’ll start popping later this week as the deep freeze eases and temperatures moderate.  Never a dull  moment in the winter of 2012.   See you next time on most of this same blog.
