The Tobacco in the fields in Eastern North Carolina is beginning to flower. The flowers will be cut off so as to direct growth to the leaves rather than the stalk of flowers. It’s a process called Topping. This by the way is on an adjoining farm. We sold our tobacco allotment years ago when we went into the cut flower business. I’ve always thought it ironic that something so deadly could have a flower so pretty. Thanks for the look. Have a Great Evening.
