Sea Oats At The Coast

A shot of Sea Oats at sunrise on the dunes at Duck on the North Carolina Outer Banks. It’s always a treat for me to get up to the Outer Banks, particularly Duck which is on the Northern Outer Banks.  I’m far closer to to the Bogue Banks which runs East West from Beaufort Inlet to Bear Inlet on the Carolina Coast  and is home to the towns of Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path, Indian Beach and Emerald Isle.  I’m heading there again Saturday.  My plan is to spend much of the morning at Fort Macon Beach which guards Beauford Inlet east of Atlantic Beach then head for the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area between Pine Knoll Shores and Salter Path.   The weather promises to be good; probably the best  we have had since Hurricane Sandy which was  followed by  a rather nasty Nor’Easter.  So as they say, Watch this space.  In the meantime, have a great weekend.
