Photo A Day: Sparrow On An Icy Morning

The weather has been cloudy  here for the better part of a a week providing the ideal light for bird photography.  This little Chipping Sparrow was awaiting warmer temperatures in the wetlands here on the farm.  Thank you for the visit and have a great evening.

  1. Sparrows are oft-neglected gems. Their confidence and insouciance can brighten the drabbest day, which at first glance (dismissal?) they may seem to epitomize… but then their vivacity shines through the hedgerow, with a cock of the head and a plumping of tiny feathers. They have a special meaning to me, as my mother’s Polish maiden name is Wrobel, which means “sparrow.” Thank you for the cheer!
