  1. My grandmothers put those (whole) in vinegar jars. Fond memory here John of when there was cabbage or collards served on Sundays after church.
    Families don’t get together like that anymore I’m afraid…

  2. My brother in law who is also here on the farm still does it with a empty wine bottle and cork and yes….he still uses it on collards and cabbage. You’re quite right though, the big family dinners on Sundays are a thing of the past just like sitting on the front porch sipping sweet tea.
