Photo Of The Day: Flowering Tobacco

544.edited_edited-1Sunset in a nearby tobacco field.  The plants are beginning  to sprout their pink, trumpet-like flowers which will soon be “topped”, or chopped off.  We stopped growing tobacco on our farm  a decade ago to go into cut flowers and we have no regrets.

Nikon D600,  18-35mm Lens.

Thanks for the visit and have a great week ahead.

  1. Tobacco field of plenty…look at that field….It is fun to see the flower of this crop. I’m not a smoker ,so I can’t say I love the plant ,but I do love the flower of the plant. It is very pretty.

  2. THAT is one of the most beautiful pics!! It looks like angels in the sky above. And nothing but the sun on the right side of the flower.
For such a beautiful flowering crop, it sure smells once it’s cut and leaves a black tar on the cutters hand. And even a more nastier smell once hung in the barn. Ick.
    My corn sure looks beautiful!!
I’m praying this July 4th storm the weatherman is warning is gonna GO.
Have I told you lately I have a wedding that I need to pay for?
I honestly think THIS PIC is one of my very faves.
