Cotton

Blooming Cotton in the field.  The initial bloom is almost red then a light pink then yellow before the boll begins to form. The plant is then defoliated and left to dry whereupon the boll opens to reveal the cotton.     Over the years cotton and soybeans have become late crops.  In many cases they are not harvested until December.  A few years ago, our cotton harvest was the day after New Years.   Thanks for the visit and have a great evening.
